Can you guess what was I doing there at GP on 11 June morning?

Here’s the clue… can you spot what event was that??

Hehe… got it??

Yeah… mummy enrolled me to participate in a coloring contest, the Disney Playhouse Magazine coloring contest! Though I’ve yet to hit the number 4, luckily I was accepted to participate in this contest.

So, here are my supporters! They’re my 2 Yee yees & ermm…. unkers(mummy’s cousin and yee yee’s bf)!? Oh oh, another big supporter not in the pic… my grandma.

We were at GP about an hour early. Therefore, it was quite boring waiting for the event to start.

Energy level downed to 70%…

Finally, the event began at 1.15pm!! Look a how excited I was….

As soon as the facilitator handed over the drawing paper, I wrote down my name and started to color.

Trying to color as carefully as I could so that I don’t color out of the lines…

I colored…

… and colored with full anticipation!

So, which prize did I bring home??

Unfortunately, none! This is because I didn’t finish up my colorings. Yeah, I gave up half way as I wasn’t feeling well on that day. I was down with flu, phlegm and cough for the past few days before the contest day. Look… I knocked out as soon as I got in the car.

Nevertheless, I brought this home, at least! A free gift pack for subscribing Disney Junior magazine.

My maiden cinema experience.

There were discussions on bringing me to the cinema for quite some time as the adults are afraid that I would freak out in the cinema when the movie starts to roll. Finally, the adults decided to let me have my maiden cinema experience on 4 June noon. Yeah…Kung Fu Panda 2, my first movie at the cinema!

Here I was…feeling pretty excited in the cinema for the first time!

Settling down on the cosy couple seat which I shared with mummy and daddy while waiting for the movie to start.

How was my first movie experience? It was awesome! I watched the entire show and I didn’t freak out at all! I’m a big boy already, okay?

After the movie, we went to have a tea time snack at Big Apple.

Yeah… its was a donut treat for me as per my request!!

Yum yum!! My favourite donut with chocolate topping!

An awesome movie treat along with a yummy donut treat which made a happy toddler me! Hehe…

Life as a toddler…

Other than eat, sleep & go to school this is what I did… looked so hardworking huh??

Writing? Nope… it’s coloring, one of my favourite activities.

Started off with this pic…. coloring the vehicles with the same colors as shown in the example picture given and with a little help from adults especially coloring those tiny/fine areas.

Then, I fell in love with coloring especially coloring this vehicles coloring book very much…. because I love vehicles!!

I kept on coloring them every single day!

And I even completed two pages of coloring in one evening!

Thus, I got addicted in coloring…

I enjoyed coloring so much and eager to complete coloring all the pages….

Here’s the last page which I’ve completed… how’s my coloring skill?? Getting better??

Besides coloring, I also had some writing activities which I don’t really adore to do…

… as somebody insisted me to practice writing!

Oh well, number 4 is the number that I could write very well and that’s the last number that I practiced writing!

Instead, I prefer to have some drawing sessions….more to doodling. So, two days ago I drew and colored a car. Then I wrote the CAR and VROOM word all by myself…

Then I drew another car and added a letter S to the car word. Mummy’s indeed surprised that I’m not only able to draw but also able to write alphabets on my own! As my school has just started teaching me to write only alphabet A recently.

Well, this was my latest master piece created yesterday. Mummy asked me to take out my toy to refer at when I asked her on how to draw a transporter (someone’s been very lazy lately ). I went to dig out this toy and drew this on my own. Nice or not?? hehe…

Nevertheless, this is my favourite past time… yea, reading! I love BOOKS!! I love to read… I love to dig out my books to read as soon I got back from school, woke up from bed and it’s a MUST to read at least two books before going off to bed. And each day I look forward to receive a new story book surprise from mummy…

I never failed to pay a visit to the bookstore when my family and I visited the mall. I love to spend some time at the book store picking some books and read one after another. However, I will pick at least one story book home with me…

Last but not least, life as a toddler would not be complete without these sessions. And that include sessions playing with the apple-gadgets too. He-he… life is so wonderful isn’t it? For a toddler like me…

Paint the bottom of a paper plate…

Paint any colors or design you like…

Next, paint the bottom of the second paper plate…

When the paint dries off, glue the two paper plates together like this…

Fold a piece of construction paper and then draw half of the alien face and neck. Then cut out the alien.

Open up the paper and the alien should look like this. Next, cut a line at the center of the neck.

Glue some wiggle eyes or draw the aliens’ face features if you don’t have the plastic wiggle eyes…

Then, stick the alien at the top center of the paper plate….

Lastly, glue a plastic cone shape cover (plastic cover from S’bucks/C’bean drinks, McD sundae ice cream cover or any plastic transparent plastic container you can find) over the aliens.

Tu.. too… tu…too… tuuuu…. here comes the alien!!!

It’s spring time…

…and let’s make some butterflies!

Prepare a small piece of paper/drawing block (a piece of drawing block cut into 4 pieces).

Fold the paper into half.

Then, draw a big number 3 or letter B on the paper and also add two lines above the number 3 like this.

Cut out the number 3. Open up the paper and it shall look like this… a butterfly shape.

Drip some paints on the left side of the butterfly wings…

You put as colourful as you like.

Fold the right side of the wing over and flatten it like this.

Next, open it up and voila!!! Nice effect?? After that, put it aside to let the paint dries off.

Besides this method, I also tried out to paint my butterfly this way… with my little fingers and finger printed on the butterfly… hehe.

Nevertheless, you also can use a paper puncher to punch on the butterfly shape paper just like what I did here.

Then, decorate it with some paints.

After the paint has dried off, glue the butterfly on a piece of cellophane sheet. Then trim off the excess cellophane sheet.

Lastly, stick a satay stick or straw or disposable chopstick behind the butterfly.

Tadaa… a starry butterfly!

Oh ya, if you forgot to cut out the butterfly’s antenna, you can also use a pipe cleaner to make the antenna by sticking it behind like this…

Well, here are my creations!

Hehe… having a puppet show with the butterflies.

There… a clearer shot of my beautiful and colorful butterflies. Besides playing with it, you can also decorate your plants/garden or home just like what I did here as I don’t have any garden.

More P&J books!

Look, I’ve collected these P&J books from my grandma’s house! I inherited them from my yee yee. I wish to bring all the whole series of P&J books home. But, mummy said a few will do as she thought it would be too advanced for me pick up so many books in one shot.

On last Saturday, as soon as I got hold of P&J book 1B at grandma’s house I quickly opened and began to read out loud. To everybody’s surprise, I’m able to read the whole book all by myself without any aid for the 1st attempt. Let’s watch me read book 1B.

Then, I continued on to read book 2A…

I even attempted to read book 2B after that…

Wonder how I’m able to read so much? Hmm… Trained by mummy? Nope, mummy just read story books for me every night before bed time. Perhaps, I picked up on reading from the school that I attend. Thanks to the school erm… a learning center actually which teaches children to read. Oh by the way, the learning center has their own learning programs and they didn’t use P&J books at all.

P/S: The videos above were just recorded two days ago only by mummy at our home. Mummy didn’t bring the digicam along when I had my first attempt reading these 3 books at grandma’s house.

Yo, check it out! I can recognize and read words!

Even mummy couldn’t believe herself that I could read! She even made me read for her twice! Can you guess how many words I could read??

It’s 30 sets of words! Thanks to this puzzle which mummy bought. Look, the puzzle says it’s for Age 5 1/2+ but I’m only 3! So, this puzzle is worth to invest in although mummy thought I was too young to play with it when she bought it home (she intended to keep it till when I’m a little bit older).

Oh well, I guess I’ll be getting more puzzles to play with soon! I think someone is going to hunt for the remaining sets of this series of puzzles.

What are we going to do with all these greeting cards besides displaying or keeping them for years? Oh well, we could recycle these cards rather than cluttering in the house or dumping them in the bins in the end!

In conjunction of hopping into the Rabbit year, let’s make a rabbit! First, draw a shape of a rabbit’s body against the fold of a greeting card. If you don’t have a greeting card, you may use a piece of cardboard and fold it into half. Then draw a body shape against the folding part.

Next, cut out the body shape and it should look like this. Remember, do not cut the fold part.

Then, draw a rabbit’s face on the left over greeting card or any piece card board and cut it out.

Next, prepare two plastic wiggle eyes. Then, cut out a nose and two teardrop shapes from pink color felt. You may use any materials such as construction papers, left over cloths, magazines, wrappers etc to decorate.

Glue the teardrop shape felts on the rabbit’s ears.

Then followed by gluing the nose and wiggle eyes and draw the rabbit’s mouth with a marker pen.

Glue the rabbit’s head onto the body. Then glue a piece of cotton ball as the rabbit’s tail. As for my rabbit, again I cut out from a piece of cotton pad (used for facial).

Tadaaa….. here’s my little rabbit!!

There, a closer look at my rabbit made with greeting cards. Does it look like me?? Hehe…

The fire cracker is one of my art works which I’ve done in school and brought it home. Actually, the one in the picture above is not mine. It’s HW kor kor’s. I don’t like my fire cracker art work at all because mine was wrapped with non-shinning/dull wrappers given by my teacher.

Therefore, I requested to re-make a nicer fire cracker at home. So, here are the materials needed…. red packets, toilet roll cardboard, cotton twines (used for tying up parcels) and some glue.

First, draw a circle shape out with the toilet roll on two pieces of red packet. Then fringe it as shown as above.

Then apply some glue around the fringe outside the circle/center part.

Next, cover the top of the toilet roll cardboard like this.

Then, use a pencil to poke a hole in the middle of the circle on the second piece of red packet paper.

Next, insert a short twine through the hole of the red packet.

Tape the tail of the twine on the inner side of the red packet with cellophane tape. And then apply some glue on the fringe of the red packet paper.

Cover the other side of the toilet roll card board with the piece of red packet prepared.

This is how the toilet roll card board looks like after gluing the top and bottom with red packet paper.

Next, cut out a rectangular shape red packet paper and apply some glue on all four corners.

Lastly, wrap it around the toilet roll card board.

Tadaa…. my new homemade toilet roll card board fire crackers completed!

Shiny or not? I purposely picked this red packet as it has lots of gold color printings on it…

There… a closer shot at the fire crackers… nice??

Hehehe…. contented with my newly made fire crackers!

Hmm… shall I display them??

Nah, I like to hold and play with them…such as pretending to light them up!
