Something beginning with the letter B…and yes, B for Binoculars!!!

Ain’t my binoculars cool?? Well, mummy and I made it on Saturday. In order to make binoculars like mine, here are the materials needed…

2 toilet roll cardboard tubes

1 bottle cap

Foam sheets – any color

Yarn

Uhu glue

1 hole puncher

Firstly, cut out the foam sheets. Two big rectangular sheets (black) which could wrap around the toilet roll tubes and also two thin strip of sheets (yellow) about 1cm-1.5cm height and able to wrap around the tube.

Then, cut out two black thin strip of foams (the height about 1cm and length which able to wrap around the toilet roll tube).

Apply some glue at the four sides of the two black rectangular sheets.

Next, glue the foam sheets around on each toilet roll tubes.

After that, apply some glue on the yellow foam strip.

And then stick the yellow foam strip at the edge of the tube. Repeat the same thing for the second tube.

Next glue the black foam strip each on the other end of both tubes.

Then, apply some glue on one of the tubes. Remember to put the glue at the area where the sides of foam sheet meet. This is to hide away the ugly side especially the foam sheets unable to wrap up fully around the tubes.

Stick the two tubes together like this…

Next, glue the bottle cap in between the two tubes.

Lastly, punch holes at the sides and tie a yarn or ribbon as the strap. Nevertheless, someone forgotten that the one hole puncher was unable to punch the super thick tubes wrapped with the foam sheets…!!!

She should have punch the holes and tie the yarn before glueing the foam sheets around the tubes.

So, no strap for my binoculars!!

Oh well, here’s my brand new hand made nikon binoculars! It’s still cool even though without the strap. Alright, it’s time for me to go spying on….

Then, I changed my location and finally could spot on something…

… and started shooting at them! What else I was spying on? It were the noisy and annoying crows and I was not spying on people horr… Hehe. Well, ain’t this handmade binoculars easy to make and fun to play with? Cannot afford a real Nikon binoculars. So, made one for myself lor… Oh by the way, if you don’t have any foam sheets, you can paint it or wrap it with color papers/construction papers. Have fun!

Class of N1 Year 2010.

Dang, dang, dang, dang…. the little scholar of the year 2010, Ryan Lee!! I do look serious in the photo, huh?? However, someone has been asking why I didn’t smile at all!!

And here’s my class photo…. I bet you can easily spot my mushroom head/hairstyle me! My class has grown bigger and bigger ever since after the mid term break in June. Well, let me introduce you the 3 pretty ladies who stood behind us. From the left are my school principle, my class teacher and the assistant/helper.

But hey mummy….look, I got smile in this photo!! In fact, I’m the only kid who smiled in the group photo leh!!!!!

Oh well, a photo album (class photo & portrait photo laminated and glued on red color hard cover album), 4 pieces of passport size photo and a 4R size photo cost us RM38! Do you think it’s worth it?? What to do? Everyone is compulsary to snap the photos…

… color when I was 26 months old.

After 7 months, this is the way I color…

… using right hand and able to color accordingly to the picture shown on the book without going out of the lines as much as possible.

Perhaps, practicing coloring in school everyday has helped to improve my coloring skill plus some “private home lessons” with someone.

So, here’s the end result… nice??

However, I do color this way too…

yeah… using the left hand!

According to my “private home instructor”, I color using left hand is much better than using the right hand. She added that the way I control the pencil and the strokes are more sturdy, faster and neater than using the right hand.

Well, here’s the masterpiece which I colored with left hand… nice or not?

And here’s another one with left hand… What do you think? Better than right hand’s??

Nevertheless, sometimes I also do this… color with both hands together! Hehehe….I love to color things colorfully sometimes. Also, using both hands could help me finished coloring faster

Besides coloring, I started to learn to draw… again, I prefer to use my left hand to draw.

Let me present you, Shaun the sheep! I drew on my own with guidance/instructions from my “home tutor”. I love to watch Shaun the sheep. It’s my favourite show on every morning before I go off to school.

Last but not least, this is the first object I’ve learned to draw. Can you guess what are they?? Nope, they are not spiders nor rambutans but smiley sun!! Hehe… Well, am I a leftie or rightie??

Can you spot what I’ve got here??

It’s a giant alligator heading towards a busy town…

and attacking the cars!

The cars trying to fight back… however, the alligator is too powerful!

Then, the hungry giant alligator started to munch on the cars…

Nevertheless, the cars didn’t give up and keep on attacking the giant alligator!

At last, the cars won! The cars parade the giant alligator around the town to celebrate their victory…

Teehee hee… let me introduce you my new friend, the hungry giant alligator. It’s a new toy which mummy and I together handmade it 8 August morning. So, are you interested to know how it was made?? Come… let me show you.

Here are the materials needed.

Cardboard egg cartons, glue, paints, paint brush, scissors, a piece of white paper and a pair of plastic wiggle eyes.

These are what needed to prepare. Cut a strip of egg carton for the alligator’s body. Cut another thin strip from the edge of egg carton for the alligator’s tail. Seek for adult’s help when cutting the egg cartons, ok?

To make the alligator’s head, cut the egg carton into half. Trim the upper jaw and lower jaw into the shape as shown in the picture above.

To make the leg, cut egg carton from the bottom up to the peak.

Once cut out the four legs, cut claws into each leg.

Glue the upper jaw to the body.

Apply some glue and attach the two front legs between the first two egg cartons of the body.

Then, glue the 2 hind legs in between the third and fourth egg carton.

After that, stick the alligator’s lower jaw underneath the upper jaw and attach the tail at the back of the body.

This is how the alligator looks like from top view. It’s best recommended to use Uhu glue (liquid) as the normal glue would take some some time to dry.

Next, paint the alligator….

When the paints dry off, glue teeth and wiggle eyes. So, here you go… the egg carton alligator… mission accomplished!

33 Months Old Update

Howdy! It’s been quite some time err…I think almost a year already I have not updated my milestones. Anyway, let me jot down here as much as I could recall now.

Vital Statistics as of 25 July 2010:

Weight & Height:

Took the measurement from the machine at Tesco. My BMI wasn’t in the normal BMI range. So, does this mean I’m under weight?? Hmm…

Food intake:

Not much as I’m pretty slow/not adventurous enough to try out new stuff. I love noodles more than rice. Yea, noodles fans!! Besides that, I love bread/buns, cakes & muffins especially mexico bun, bread with raisins & blueberry muffin. However, I’ve learned to eat and fond of fishballs & lettuce for now! Also, I began to accept a little bit of Ramly chicken burger meat & McD chicken nuggets. Nevertheless, I still don’t fancy any fruits except raisins .

Sleeping style:

Pretty alert/active at night like an owl refused to sleep…. just like daddy! Knock off at least 12am almost every day… Oh ya, it’s been a habit for me to request for a cup of milo/horlicks every night even though after taking my milk. No more snuggling up with mummy and prefer my own bed now. However, occasionally I’ll snuggle up with mummy.

Development & Achievements:

Mastered all the alphabets phonic sounds. Started learning to read Peter & Jane book 1A in school. Able to recognize the words like Peter, Jane, and, the, dog, here, is, a shop, ball & toy.

Coloring skill improved alot. Able to color without going out the lines as much as possible. However, mummy thinks my left hand coloring skill much better than my right hand.

Love to sing at any time & anywhere I like. Songs/nursery rhymes I could sing in complete are:

Marry had a little lamb
Polly put the kettle on
Twinkle twinkle little star
ABC alphabets
London bridge
3 little monkeys jumping on the bed
Wheels of the bus

However, now I’m quite interested to listen and learn to sing adult’s songs such as songs by Usher, Black eye peas, Seal, Wonder girls & etc. So far, I’ve only able to catch the songs a little bit here and there.

Started the “water hose” training two months ago. Within a month I went diaperless except nap/bed time. So far, I only wet my pants for the first two weeks of training and few times during school. I was trained to pee in a urinal container and then coaxed by mummy to pee in the t-bowl. This is because there’s no urinal container for me to pee in school. However, I still prefer the urinal container than the t-bowl So now, I’ll run towards while trying to pull down my pants and then grab the homemade urinal container and pee… all by myself. After that, I’ll pull up my pants, wash and wipe my hands dry.

For the past two years, I refused to “bake cake” in the potty. Instead, I opted to “bake” it with my diaper on while hiding one corner which nobody could notice. Then, I’ll notify the adults I’ve finished “baking” and needed to be cleaned up. So, during the first week of diaperless training, I insisted to wear a diaper to “bake my cake”… hehe. After much persuasion and reasoning from the adults, I decided to change the baking location to the red throne instead. Since then, I’ll announce out to the adults while rushing towards the red throne, grabbing it and relocate the pot under the fan and strip off my pants before I started “baking”. Heheh….

Another big milestone which need to jot was I “baked my very first cake” in the t-bowl on the 12 July morning at TBB hotel room!! I’ve got no choice but to “bake” it there as there was no potty available in the hotel room. Yup, we had a free night stay at TBB hotel. It was mummy’s company’s family day event. Well, I haven’t tried the t-bowl at home though.

Able to socialize more with people. See, I’m not scared of darker color skin people/ not a racist afraid of making friends with mummy’s colleague especially this uncle R. He’s the first Indian person I’ve ever got closed with.

Able to sit still and let Mr. Barber cut my hair.

Became mummy’s personal image/fashion consultant… request her to change if I feel the dress doesn’t look nice on her… hehe.

Been asking lots of questions…the what, who, when, which, where why, whose & how never ending questions.

Able to wear and take off shoes on my own and also place it on the shoe rack… not only in school but at home too. Also, able to wear socks and pants on my own.

After 3 months of schooling, I finally decided to stop whining, willingly walking in straight into school by myself and wave bye bye to daddy/mummy. No more tears!! hehe…. big achievement huh??

Oh well, that’s all I could recall, folks! Bye…

Flavourous Syrups.

Yes, I’m down with flu and cough since last weekend. Then, two days ago I ended up having diarrhea and some vomiting. So, these are the colourful syrups that I need to swallow for now!

However, I don’t any problem in drinking all of them. I would drink the syrup that I love the most first. I would go for Ribena syrup for cough followed by lemon syrup for flu, coffee syrup for phlegm, orange syrup for wind, milk syrup for diarrhea and barley syrup for vomit. And yes, I labeled these syrups although they aren’t as flavourous as per the name I gave them… hehe.

Mr. Barber Cut My Hair…

While I sit in a great big chair,

Snip a little here,

Snip a little there,

Mr. Barber cut my hair!

However, Mr. Barber didn’t snip a little bit here and a little there….

Instead, I was asked to lower my head down…

And continued snipping away everywhere with the electric cutter!!!

Felt a little ticklish and at the mean time I was worried that Mr. Barber would cut off my ear!!

Tadaa… here’s the outcome! Nice?? Oh well, this was my first time my hair not cut by my mummy. It’s my first time to the hair salon after my art session on 24 July. Mummy was surprised that I could sit still on the chair letting other people cut my hair. Oh by the way, did you notice the Mr. Barber was wearing a skirt?? Hehe… actually, the person who cut my hair was a lady and should be addressed as Ms. Barber and not Mr. Barber as per the rhymes I learned from school.

So, any comments on my new look?? Mummy said that my head looked like an american football!!

And daddy was laughing away every time he sees my hair. According to him, I look like ‘Ah Wong’ in the HK drama named Life Made Easy. Same meh??

Nevertheless, everyone at home said this hairstyle doesn’t suit me and the hairstyle which mummy cut was much better!!

First Abstract Painting.

I’ve not been playing with the paints for a long time already. So, this was what I did under mummy’s supervision on last Saturday morning, 24 July.

Materials needed:

Drawing paper or any kinds of paper & a box – any size & type.

Beads, small balls, marbles, beans and nuts or anything round. I don’t have any marbles therefore I used some beads, black beans & a plastic ball which I could find in the house.

Some poster color paints.

Methods:

Place the drawing paper in the box. Then, dip in the marbles/beads/beans with some paints. After that, drop the marbles covered with paints in the box.

Then start tilting the box back and forth and side to side like what I did here.

You may also add as many marbles/beads and colors as you like at the same time. No need to wait for the paints to dry off before adding/rolling another colored marble/beads.

Continue to tilt the box as the marbles/beads will do the work for you. Look at the crossover of colours… amazing!

Tadaa… here’s my finished master piece by rolling the beads! No paint brushes needed. It’s so easy to do, isn’t it?

And here’s another one… decided to create another one with the plastic ball, beads & black beans. It’s such a fun activity and I love it a lot!

Look at the mess I’ve done here… got my hair colored with some gold paints! Cool huh?

Luckily, the ‘supervisor’ didn’t get mad of what I did. So, here’s the happy & satisfied kid after the big mess! Hehe….

Tee hee hee… look what I’ve got here??

Giving my first attempt….

However, someone’s trying to point out my technique ain’t right…

After went through a quick lesson from her, then I only get to try it out on my own…

Practicing the swing movements…

Also, need to practice the ‘eyes focused on the ball’ ….

And then what’s next? Kept on whacking practicing swinging and hitting the ball lor!!

A golf victory cheer…. hehe.

Oh well, I’m still an amateur lah! However, I think I need a bigger and better quality golf set as this set looked more suitable for babies… don’t you think so??

After few rounds of running around the field whacking non stop swinging and hitting the golf balls, I decided to take a rest.

Look how exhausted I was! Luckily, I brought something to cool down and freshen me up…

Alright, alright, it was mummy who packed my favourite drinks chilled in an ice box and brought it along for me.

Let me introduce you… these drinks are called C2 – Cool & Clean Green Tea. I ♥ Beach!

Finally, I landed my feet at the sandy beach!!

And get to touch the polluted and coarse sand… On 20th of March! Yeah…it’s a back dated post.

Believe it or not, this was my first time went and played at the beach!

Why waited so long? Because… the flu/cold bugs kept bothering me on and off and got my beach plans postponed one after another… sigh.

Furthermore, I’m a little phobia of water especially huge pool of water like the swimming pools

Well, I’ve not been to the pool for about a year already…. so, the beach and the sea water were a new experience for me.

Mummy thought that I dare not go near the water… somehow, I managed to test the sea water out.

Then, enjoyed scooping some water to fill up my little watering can on my own….

Besides that, I tried to have a dip in the sea water…

I got excited when waves rushed in and wet my pants!

Next, found my feet got stuck…

Luckily my heroine came to the rescue….

Nevertheless, that didn’t stop me from not going in the water again…

Even some sea water splashed on my face, I wasn’t afraid at all…

In fact, I love the waves and water splashes in….

… and got myself drenched. I enjoyed myself at the beach very much and refused to go home on that day. Hehe… It’s simply because I love the beach very much!
